Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony on 18 May 2015
The V&A Illustration Awards are held annually to highlight the best book and magazine illustration published in the UK in the previous year.
Previous winners and current entries can be viewed on the V&A website, and the annual submissions increasingly constitute an online archive of contemporary illustration styles. Each year, the winning books are added to the holdings of the National Art Library and may be read in the Library’s Reading Rooms in the V&A.
There are three categories for published illustration: Book Cover, Book Illustration and Editorial Illustration (newspapers and magazines).
The winner in each category receives £2,000 and a trophy. The judges select an overall winner who receives an additional £2,000. The Student Illustrator of the Year receives £2,000 and a trophy. The Student runner up receives £1,000.
Winners will be displayed at the V&A Illustration Awards gallery which opens on 19 May 2015. Winners must be prepared to lend some or all of their original artwork for the display.
